CapyKids for parents

Everything you need to follow your child's day, handle check-in, and pay tuition — right from your phone.

Getting the app

CapyKids is a free download for parents. Get it on the App Store (iPhone & iPad) or Google Play (Android) by searching for “CapyKids”. You can also open the web app in any browser if you’d rather not install anything.

Signing in for the first time

Your daycare creates your account and sends you an invite by email. Public sign-up is closed on purpose — accounts always come from your center, so your child’s information stays private.

  1. Open the invite email from your daycare and tap Accept invitation.
  2. Choose a password and confirm your email address.
  3. Sign in with that email and password on the app.

Didn't get the invite?

Check your spam folder first. If it’s still missing, ask your daycare to resend it — they can re-send an invite to your household at any time.

Following your child’s day

The daily report is the heart of the parent app. As teachers log the day, you’ll see updates for each of your children, including:

  • Meals and snacks — what was offered and how much was eaten
  • Naps — when your child went down and woke up
  • Activities and learning moments
  • Photos from the classroom (when photo sharing is on — see below)

If you have more than one child enrolled, switch between them from the top of the home screen.

Check-in and check-out

Attendance is handled at drop-off and pick-up. Depending on how your center runs things, check-in happens one of two ways:

  • QR code — scan the code at the classroom or front desk with the app to check your child in or out.
  • Staff check-in — a teacher records attendance and you’ll see it reflected in the app.

You’ll always see your child’s current status — checked in, checked out, or absent — on the home screen.

Tuition & autopay

Tuition is paid securely inside the app — there are no separate checkout pages or portals to log into. Add a payment method once and your tuition is charged automatically on its schedule.

  1. Go to Billing in the app.
  2. Add a debit or credit card as your payment method.
  3. Review your tuition amount and schedule — that’s it. Payments run automatically going forward.

You can view past payments and receipts any time under Billing, and download a year-end tax statement when it’s available.

Extras and add-ons

If your center offers optional add-ons (late pickup, field trips, supplies), you’ll approve and pay for those in the app too — you stay in control of what you’re charged for.

Messaging your child’s teachers

Use in-app messaging to reach your child’s classroom — let them know about an early pickup, a food allergy, or a change in routine. Messages stay within CapyKids, so you don’t need to share a personal phone number.

Photos & your privacy choices

Photos of your child are only shared with you when you’ve given consent. You’re in charge of that setting, and you can change your mind at any time.

  • Open Settings → Photo consent (or your child’s profile).
  • Grant or revoke photo sharing for each child.

No consent, no photos

If photo consent isn’t granted, classroom photos of your child won’t be displayed — the app fails closed on purpose to protect your child’s privacy.

Notifications

Turn on push notifications to get a nudge when your child is checked in or out, when a new daily report is posted, or when a teacher messages you. You can fine-tune these in your device settings.

Managing your account

  • Multiple children: all children in your household appear under one login — no need to switch accounts.
  • Forgot your password? Tap “Forgot password” on the sign-in screen to reset it by email.
  • Wrong info? Contact your daycare — they manage your child’s enrollment details.
